  1. What I enjoyed most about the book was when Miss Gossim got to stay for the rest of the year. I was relieved that Miss Gossim was staying because Howie might not see her after Monday, and I thought she was going to leave, but it turns out twisted, just what AVI does. The part I didn’t like in the book was when Howie found out Dr. Lomister wasn’t a spy. I thought he was a bad guy and it was weird when he was a good guy, and was excited, but it all went wrong. He wasn’t a spy and he is a nice guy. The book is really boring without a bad guy!!! I didn’t like how the story ended. I thought Dennys Dad would come home and Howie would still live in Brooklyn. I didn’t like the ending because Miss Gossim had to leave to Indiana. I thought Miss Gossim was going to stay in Brooklyn and mary Howie. But, it all twisted. The thing that I didn’t want to happen was Denny’s Dad dying. If I could stop it, I would. Denny is probably really sad. If Denny’s Dad didn’t die, the ending would go a lot smoother. The book AVI wrote was fascinating, but needs a bad guy, and not sad endings. Its a twister story~!!!

  2. I really enjoyed the book. It was a fantastic adventure. At the start of the book I wasn't that sure about Howie. I thought he was rude and not polite since he broke into Mrs.Wolch’s house. But once I found out that he was only trying to help, I felt like he was kind and thoughtful. I just think he shouldn't have told all his classmates about Mrs.Mrs. Gossim. Actually part of me thinks he shouldn't have but part of me says he should've. Also, the ending was GREAT!!! Even though it had some sad parts it was good to know that Howie’s dad is safe. The only thing I disliked was the fact that Mrs. Gossim had to leave. But atleast she got to stay for the rest of the school year. The only thing I wonder is if Mrs. Gossim ever found Smitty? Since the war is over and all will they meet back up? I also wonder where Mrs.Mrs. Gossim went? Like if she went to Indiana like she said she would or if she went some place else. Overall the story was phenomenal. I loved the setting I loved the time period and I loved the characters they all played an important part in the story. The final thing I wanted to say was thank you Mrs.Potts! This book was amazing and you chose it for me and I just loved it so much so thank you.

  3. What I enjoyed most about the book is that Howie want’s to save Mrs. Gossim so much that he will risk getting into tons of trouble with his mom and his favorite teacher just so he can save Mrs.Gossim from getting fired. One thing I didn't like about the book is Howie moved away from his best friend Denny and basically had to start a new life and create new friends at a new school.I thought the ending to the story was good because it was sad that Howie moved away from Denny but it was also a happy ending because Howie’s dad didn't die. There was nothing that happened that I didn't like in the story. Why there was nothing in the story that I didn't like is I liked the story how it was.

  4. What I enjoyed most about the book is when Howie tried to make Mrs.Gossim not get fired with the petition, because I thought it was nice to do that for Miss. Gossim. I also liked the part when Howie listened to the principal and followed him. What I didn’t like about the book is when Denny’s father died in the war. It was sad because he is never going to see his dad again. What I also thought that was sad was when Miss.Gossim was about to lose her job. I didn’t like the way the story ended because when Denny’s father died. I want to find out what happened to Miss.Gossim because she left. At the end of the book I thought it was a good book over all.
